Laptop is possibly IDT audio but have not found a reputable safe source for software/driver.įinally installed sp78198 & currently got sp78234 to install & it does not install the dts audio control panel or the realtek driver just the generic win same as the more recent sp79841 installed earlier with same results both did not provide solution. Then installed sp79841 which installs generic hd audio driver with no realtek software & no dedicated control panel The actual chipset is the Realtek ALC1220 (which supports up to 7.1). The Realtek audio control panel (the Windows Store flavor) has settings for 'Stereo' grey and locked like 5.1 isn't supported. Go into the Main Menu Go to Audio Settings Go to Advanced. If this does not resolve the issue or you are not using a cable or satellite box you may want to try turning off the SRS TruSurround and the SRS TruVolume settings inside the Audio Settings. I plugged the mini-toslink optical cable in and can only get stereo from it. Please check the internal audio settings in your cable or satellite box to increase the volume. This works in most cases, where the issue is originated due to a system corruption.
